How To Do A Hot Oil Treatment

When it comes to natural hair there seems to be a lot of things that has to be done to our beautiful locks from co-washing, moisturizing, protein treatments to whatever the process you go through in order to retain your beautiful curls but me personal I just can't go without a Hot Oil Treatment to be done to my hair. Yes, an hot oil treatment is just as important to our hair but great thing about hot oil treatments is that we don't have to perform them once week just once a month is great.

Why Should We Do Hot Oil Treatments?

Natural hair has always been known to be called "nappy" but our hair is tightly curl with result in our hair easily tangled, knotted and become every fragile causing breakage. The change in temperature, pollution, and humidity, using hair products like dryers, steaming, curlers, straightener, and brushing resulting into dry and damaged hair. Dry or brittle hair is apart of life but there are ways to prevent these from hanging around.

Benefits:
  • Maintains moisture balance in hair. Hair with the correct amount of balance will result in more elasticity with allow retain in length.
  • Adds amazing shine
  • Great for dry scalp and dandruff
  • Adds body
  • Softens hair
  • Prevents Breakage
  • Prevents Frizz
  • Softens and moisture scalp
  • Prevents drying of the hair shaft

Week 3 and 4 Check-In

During the challenge in week 3 and 4 things kind of gotten out of hands, I was forgetting to oil my scalp and hair on some days being that I was every busy I decided to have my oil out on the bathroom counter when I would get ready because without myself when its out of sight its out of mind so I could remember when I leave the oil out.

Onto with the questions,
Week 3:

1) Since going natural have you ever felt overwhelmed , if so, Why? If not, what have you done to make this journey run smoothly?

-Yes, I was ever overwhelmed after 4 months being natural when I say that when I first became natural I went straight back to wearing my hair into braids again so I didn't have to deal with my natural hair right away but after that I was so lost. I didn't know what I was doing at all, I would not braid or twist my hair up at night and I wake up in the morning with matted hair so dry. I didn't know how to style my hair.

2) Do you see any change in your hair since using Castor Oil?

-Yes, My hair is more manageable, shiner, thicker, and softer.

3) How did you use Castor Oil in your hair last week in week 2, did you use it different from week 1?

-No, I used it as the same oiling my scalp, running it from root to ends of my hair than either braiding or twisting it.

Week 4:

1) There are so many products on the market, what are your favorites for washing? What are your favorites for moisturizing/styling? What qualities does a product have to have in order to become one of your favorites?

-I wash with Terressentials Mud Wash once a month to cleanse my hair thoroughly, moisturizing/styling I use my homemade Shea Butter mixes. As you ladies know I started my new journey of just using all natural products so the qualities a product has to have in order to become my favorite it has to be parabens free, sulfate free, alcohol free, mineral oil free, just basically all natural ingredients.

2) Since using the castor oil, has your hair seen any of the benefits listed in the list above? Which ones?
-The list that was list above were different things that you should  be seeing in your hair by now and the few things that I have seen in my hair is thickness, increase in growth, hair is shiner, and eliminated dry hair.

3) How did you use Castor Oil in your hair last week (week 3). Did you find yourself losing momentum or are you still going hard?

-Last week I did hot oil treatment on my hair and focus more on my edges that was only differences than the weeks before.
